Information Designer

Chicago Office

SNHA is seeking to establish a role within the firm dedicated to building in-house capabilities and products that seek to explain and transform the architectural and construction industry. Blending applied research, strategic thinking, and design methods, we seek graphic innovation that will explain the future of our profession.

We seek an empathetic and insightful thinker who is curious about understanding our practice and cutting-edge architectural technologies, and can translate those insights into clear, visual products. In this role, you will work with our team and our clients and will have opportunities to wear many hats along the way – from researcher to designer to storyteller.

This role is all about visual storytelling, design thinking, and bringing ambiguous, abstract, and structured complex data and stories to life. Ideal candidates are strategic, flexible, and collaborative thinkers. In this role, you will translate research insights into models, frameworks, graphics, and concepts which will be utilized to help solve our clients’ most complex design challenges.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent sketching and prototyping
  • Graphic design and information modeling
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Advanced visual design skills with a strong understanding of hierarchy, typography, balance, color use and white space
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and Data Visualization Tools
  • A portfolio that showcases advanced presentation-design skills, including animations, dynamic charts, and diagrams
  • Candidates with experience editing video (Final Cut, Adobe Premiere and After Effects) and/or visual storytelling preferred
  • Knowledge of coding and scripting a plus

Sustainability Director 

Chicago Office

SNH Architects are seeking to establish a new role within the firm dedicated to advancing sustainable, carbon-neutral, and healthy design solutions. We see these issues as being critical to ourselves, our clients, the building industry, and the world at large.

SNHA provides design services to cutting-edge technology companies with established sustainability programs and to civic and cultural institutions who are earlier in the process. The perfect candidate will need to understand our clients’ facility needs and inspire them to set higher goals and provide plans to help achieve them.

Within SNHA the director must be ready to implement sustainable architectural solutions, identify new technical approaches on project-specific issues and challenge the office to reexamine established solutions. They should have a keen understanding of our different project types and assess how the office is performing in those areas and critiquing where we can improve. All work should be viewed with an understanding of the anticipated life of the project’s materials, systems, and furnishings.

In this role, responsibilities include:

  • Becoming the recognized leader of SNHA Sustainability, by developing client relationships, publishing research, and presenting at industry

  • Leading the conversation on building systems, pre-fabrication, material science and sourcing, and

Experience and Education:

  • Graduate degree in Architecture, Materials Science, Environmental Design, Sustainable Design, or Construction Management
  • 10+ years of work experience in Architecture / Academia / Construction
  • History of published articles or conference presentations
  • Certifications that could include LEED, BREEAM, WELL Building Standard, WELL AP, Fitwel, Just, Green Globes, EDAC (Evidence-based Design Accreditation), and participation in
  • Knowledge of established codes and best practices for building performance (US, California, and Europe preferred)

Architect ARB/RIBA 

London Office

Sheehan Nagle Hartray Associates is looking for an Architect ARB/RIBA with minimum of 5 years post Part-3 experience to join its growing team in London.

We are looking for an individual who can join our talented architects and technical team.  Working under the Project Lead’s management, they will supervise the project team through Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Document & Administration stages (RIBA Plan of Work Stages 0–5) in accordance with SNHA architecture and construction principles.  Ideally with experience in Data Centre design and delivery.  They should be a multi-tasker who can handle a fast-paced environment, while maintaining an emphasis on detail and quality.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working across all the RIBA work stages
  • Liaise directly with the Project Lead to develop the building design
  • Analyse the brief and prepare drawings and presentations for review with the wider project team, including client, local consultants, and engineers
  • Participate in design team meetings and coordinate with consultants & relevant statutory authorities to further the building design
  • Develop design models, drawings, studies, schedules and construction detailing in collaboration with individual members of the project team
  • Assist with coordination of the project generally
  • Attend client meetings and presentations as necessary
  • Maintain SNHA drawing standards and contribute to the firm knowledge base
  • Proficient in Revit and BIM360 Model Coordination & Document Management

Required Skills:

  • Excellent Revit skills with proven experience in RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5 required. (Candidates without a deep knowledge of the software will not be considered)
  • Previous experience as package leader for large scale projects
  • Strong technical skills/detailing experience
  • Experience coordinating complex projects in a BIM environment. Experience with BIM 360 platform is preferred
  • Previous experience with Data Centres and office buildings preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team but as well as independently
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite beneficial

Architectural Assistant / Technician RIBA Part II or Equivalent

London Office

Sheehan Nagle Hartray Associates have current opportunities for an experienced Architectural Assistant / Technician RIBA Part II or equivalent, at their London office.

We are looking for talented individuals who can join our growing team. Candidates should ideally have some experience in Data Centre design and delivery and should be a multi-tasker who can handle a fast-paced environment, while maintaining an emphasis on detail and quality.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform design, drawing and project administration assignments
  • Develop design models, drawings, studies, schedules and construction details in collaboration with
  • project lead and members of the project team
  • Research and solve basic problems independently
  • QA/QC’s own work for graphic legibility and accuracy of own work
  • Participate in design team meetings and assist with coordination of the project generally
  • Maintain SNHA drawing standards and contribute to the firm knowledge base
  • Proficient in Revit and BIM360 Model Coordination & Document Management
  • Works efficiently and deliberately to meet project milestones

Required Skills:
