“One of the things that is always fun about these projects is seeing the way the community reacts to them after the remodeling is done. It was a fairly modest addition that we put on the building, but it feels like a brand-new library when you walk through the front door.”
Principal Don McKay spoke with Great Lakes By Design about the newly-completed expansion and renovation of the historic St. Charles Public Library. Originally built in 1906, the complex project unified the original library building and two past additions and reintegrated the original Carnegie Library into daily library activities with modern-day users in mind.
