Performance Driven, Poetically Crafted Architecture

Donald J. McKay, AIA; Principal; Chicago

Don finds his greatest inspiration from architecture’s poetic potential and the challenge that comes with designing highly tailored solutions. With four decades of experience in the industry, his work with the firm has earned more than 20 industry design awards, including a national AIA Honor Award for St. Mary of the Springs Chapel. He was also instrumental in securing the firm’s AIA Chicago Firm Award. In his spare time, Don enjoys travelingtravelling, whether it’s to Europe or his annual fishing trip with his family, and maintaining his historical 1929 Sears Catalog home in Oak Park.

Don was the recipient of the Francis J. Plym Traveling Fellowship, which he used to research connections between Midwest and Nordic Modernism.
