Performance Driven, Poetically Crafted Architecture

Eric Penney, AIA, LEED AP; Principal; Chicago

Eric comes from a family with multiple generations in the lumber trade and he got his first part-time job at age eight working at his father’s lumberyard in Michigan. Eric’s interest in building materials and their use blossomed into a career in architecture, where his portfolio of municipal and institutional projects has grown to include a wide range of facility types – from new construction to complex addition/renovation projects. He also has a knack for building consensus among user groups and village officials. Nearly three decades into his career, Eric’s interests have grown to include the ballet, world history, and stand-up comedy – but architecture remains his first love.

The first project Eric ever managed was the Evanston Public Library.
