Modern Slavery Statement
This statement applies to SNHA, a Woolpert Company (London Office) referred to in this statement as ‘the Organisation’.
The Organisation
SNHA, a Woolpert Company, is part of Woolpert AEG (Architecture, Engineering, Geospatial). SNHA is an architectural practice specialising in design and delivery services for the Mission Critical sector. The London office focuses on mission critical in the UK and Europe and has a workforce of 50 controlled by four directors. All employees work in a hybrid setting. Woolpert AEG is a global company with offices across the USA, Australia, South Africa, and United Kingdom.
The labour supplied to the Organisation in pursuance of its operation is carried out in the UK and across Europe, currently including: Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Ireland, and Germany. Our staff attend site at these locations during construction phases of the projects.
Definitions
The Organisation considers that modern slavery encompasses:
- Human trafficking
- Forced work, through mental or physical threat
- Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse or the threat of abuse
- Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property
- Being physically constrained or having restrictions placed on freedom of movement
Commitment
The Organisation acknowledges its responsibilities in tackling modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This includes ongoing review of internal labour practices and supply chains.
The Organisation does not engage with any entity, domestically or internationally, that knowingly supports slavery, servitude, or forced labour. All labour used in the Organisation’s services is obtained lawfully, and the Organisation exceeds minimum employment standards in many cases.
Supply Chains
To fulfil its activities, the Organisation’s main supply chains include architectural services such as façade design, landscape design, and local architectural services across the UK and Europe. The Organisation acknowledges that its first-tier suppliers may have contractual relationships with lower-tier suppliers.
Potential Exposure
The Organisation considers its exposure to slavery and human trafficking to be relatively limited. Nonetheless, proactive steps are taken to ensure such practices do not occur in its operations or supply chains.
Steps
The Organisation’s due diligence includes:
- Reviewing supplier controls related to modern slavery
- Ensuring no business is conducted with entities involved in modern slavery
In accordance with Section 54(4) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, the Organisation has implemented the following steps:
- Supplier onboarding processes require confirmation of modern slavery policies
- Risk identification and assessment measures in supply chains
- Annual audits for supply chain corporate compliance
- Staff training on modern slavery awareness
Key Performance Indicators
To measure its effectiveness, the Organisation has adopted the following KPIs:
- Communicate this policy to all clients and employees
- Provide modern slavery awareness training to all employees, including in new hire inductions
This statement is made in pursuance of Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and is reviewed annually.
