Performance Driven, Poetically Crafted Architecture

Greyhound Terminal

Bus Terminal

Urban Ground Transportation

The bus station’s design is driven by safety concerns for loading and unloading passengers. Roofs suspended from structural steel masts provide unobstructed covered bus parking. It is a simple, dramatic and efficient design approach.

The design follows a rich Chicago tradition of strong structures as architecture.

The building’s internal planning geometry is rooted in the diagonal parking of buses.

The station’s prominent structural masts are in the rich Chicago tradition of brawny architectural structures. The coloredcoloured masts enhance the brand of an old company in an urban area and increase the station’s visibility along the Congress Expressway leading into the City.
