Best known as home to the Oprah Winfrey show, Harpo Studios adapted an existing 1920s-era studio building to the industry’s highest production and security standards. Production studios had to be acoustically isolated from mechanical systems dealing with the unusual cooling loads created by studio lighting systems. Careful design also improved the poor acoustic isolation of the existing building envelope.

The architecture recalls the Art Deco of nearby buildings and a golden age of movie production.
