Performance Driven, Poetically Crafted Architecture

Jackson Hole Residence

Single Family Residence

Vacation Home

The house is in a rugged valley along the Snake River. It is designed to take advantage of its greatest asset—stunning views of the Teton Range. Its transparent enclosure makes the surrounding natural environment ever present. Despite its apparent lightness, the house is designed to withstand intense cold natural to its valley location.

The house’s wood structural frame is a light touch in the landscape anchored by a stone hearth and chimney.

The house is set into the ground to comply with local ‘skyline’ restrictions intended to preserve collective views.

A wood post and beam structure presents a light touch to the natural setting and maximizes glass areas to take advantage of views. Inside, a two-story volume and a stairway are arranged to influence movement through the house to frame views of the Teton Range. The house’s modern rustic character is well suited to its natural environment.
