The new Village Hall takes advantage of its sloping site overlooking the Fox River through a building section that welcomes visitors and creates dynamic but intimate interiors. A one-stop shop service counter and open staff environment prioritize customer service.
The building’s material palette complements a nearby landmark mill building along the river.
Midwest Construction Magazine Best of 2009 Award for Government/Public Work
Architecturally, the building honors the community’s riverfront history through use of traditional forms and a material palette that recall historic mill buildings. The terraced Board Room mediates grade changes and optimizes visual connections between elected officials, citizens and speakers.
