SNHA to Relocate to 1 Prudential Plaza

October 2, 2018

Sheehan Nagle Hartray Architects (SNHA) is pleased to announce it has completed a long-term, full-floor, 23,615-square-foot lease at 1 Prudential Plaza in Chicago.

SNHA is a global architectural firm with offices in Chicago and London known for the design of award-winning cultural and educational facilities, as well as some of the largest and most complex data centers in the world. Its diverse staff of architects and interior designers includes 80-plus professionals from 10 different countries. Headquartered in Chicago, SNHA recently opened a London office to better serve the European data center market.

Relocating from 12,907 square feet at 30 W. Monroe Street (Inland Steel Building) in Chicago, SNHA partnered with Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) to find a location that maintains its collaborative culture and supports both individual and team needs. At nearly double the size, the new space also accommodates the firm’s continued growth.

“Our employees were our priority during the space selection process. We wanted to provide an environment where they can do their best work. This includes access to modern amenities, abundant public transportation, and a functional and motivating workplace that can adapt to their needs,” says Neil Sheehan. “NKF listened and helped us select a single floor in an architecturally significant building where our teams can feel connected and supported, with room for expansion.” he added.

NKF Executive Managing Director Geoffrey Kasselman, SIOR, LEED AP, and Director Matthew Whipple led the brokerage team representing SNHA. Kasselman also recently represented SNHA, along with Knight Frank, in securing new office “flex” space for its London, UK office at 20 Chiswell Street.

“It is always gratifying to help solve the space needs for any of our clients, but in the case of SNHA, it has been much more than that,” said Kasselman. “We take immense pride in working with SNHA yet again on their strategic considerations along with the analytics and the tactical implementation to help SNHA secure dramatic space in a dynamic location that accomplishes all of their near and long-term needs.”

Sterling Bay, the landlord of 1 Prudential Plaza, was self-represented in the lease negotiations. SNHA will be moving to the new space on April 1, 2019.
