Ute Tegtmeyer

Associate + Technical Director | AIA, LEED AP BD+C | Chicago, IL

All is fair in love and war – all that is, except architecture. Because Sweden declared war on Ute’s hometown of Bremen, Germany in 1654. She enjoys teasing her coworkers with that historical fact when working on projects located in her neighboring country.

With more than two decades of experience, Ute has designed large and small-scale projects from a basement office to multi-use high-rise buildings. She is most inspired by the creativity and versatility of architecture, and the sense of accomplishment upon completing a project. After receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from the Technical College in Hannover, Germany, Ute traveled to Ball State University on a Fulbright Scholarship for her Master of Architecture.

Ute most enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
